Cover Supervisors are a regular feature in most secondary schools, in high demand and we’re recruiting now!
Is mainly to provide cover for absent teachers, manage a classroom ensuring that the students remain on task with the work that has been set. They play a huge part in the running of the majority of secondary schools and are now requested more and more to provide day to day or even long term cover on a temporary basis.
What you need
There are no formal qualifications needed to become a Cover Supervisor although a good level of education is ideal. To be successful in this role you need the right motivation, energy, patience and a sense of humour! Many candidates we work with are looking to get into teaching. You may have applied for a PGCE but narrowly missed out or may just want to gain some experience to see if the role is for you before embarking on a teaching career. Either way working as a Cover Supervisor is a great way to gain experience in a school setting giving you the opportunity to network with the possibility of other opportunities becoming available. You can work as little or as often as you like, although there is a huge demand so regular work is available. Even if you have another part time job you can still work with us as a Cover Supervisor.
